How to sell online without a website in Pakistan

Storelala Team

Five ways to sell with no website, what each is good for and where each one breaks as orders grow. Then the signs it is time for your own store, and why that no longer means building a website.

This is the overview: which no-website route fits what you sell, what each one is bad at, and the point where a store of your own starts paying for the time it saves. Each route has its own step-by-step guide on this blog, linked below, so this page does not repeat the setup.

Yes, you can start without a website

You can take your first orders today with nothing but a phone. A page to show products, a chat to agree the order, and a courier that collects cash on delivery are enough to sell.

The catch is not getting the first order. It is keeping track of the fiftieth: who ordered what, in which size, to which address, and whether the cash came back.

Five routes, and where each one breaks

WhatsApp Business catalog

Good for: buyers who already have your number and want to see what you have without twenty photos in the chat. The catalog is free and lives inside the app.

Breaks when: more than one person answers chats, or you sell on Instagram as well. A cart arrives as a message, with no order list, no stock count and no record of which parcel was shipped. Setup and limits are in our WhatsApp Business catalog guide.

Instagram or a Facebook page

Good for: clothes, jewellery, decor, beauty: anything that sells on how it looks. Your page builds a brand people follow.

Breaks when: DMs pile up. Instagram has no checkout here: as of October 2026, Pakistan is not on Meta’s list of countries for Shops on Facebook and Instagram, so there are no product tags and nobody can pay in the app. Every order is typed out in a DM. See how to sell on Instagram in Pakistan for the profile, posts and DM routine.

Facebook Marketplace

Good for: local buyers and one-off sales, with no listing cost.

Breaks when: you start to run it as a shop. Meta’s rules treat Marketplace as a place for people selling to people, and say businesses that list there may be blocked or have listings removed. Our Facebook Marketplace guide quotes those rules and lists the products Meta does not allow.

Daraz

Good for: branded or packaged products that people already search for by name. Daraz brings the buyer, handles checkout and collects cash on delivery for you.

Breaks when: your margin is thin or you want buyers to come back to you. Daraz says there is no listing fee but takes a commission on each order that depends on your category, plus other fees. The full list, with each source, is in our Daraz vs your own store comparison.

TikTok

Good for: getting a product seen by people who have never heard of you, through short videos.

Breaks when: a video works and the comments fill with “price?”. TikTok Shop is not open here: TikTok’s own help page lists the markets where it runs, and Pakistan is not one of them as of October 2026. Every order moves to DMs or another place. Our guide to selling on TikTok in Pakistan covers the videos and the route from comment to order.

What goes wrong when orders live in chats

WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok share one weakness: the order is a conversation, not a record. As orders grow, these are the failures you start to see:

  • Orders lost in the scroll. A buyer confirms at night, ten new chats arrive before morning, and the order is never packed.
  • No single list. Orders sit in three inboxes and a notebook. Nobody can answer “what is still to ship today?” without scrolling.
  • Everything typed by hand. Name, phone, address, size and colour are copied from a chat onto the courier booking. One wrong digit in a phone number and the rider cannot reach the buyer.
  • No tracking tied to the order. When a buyer asks “where is my parcel?”, you search the courier app for their name.
  • Stock by memory. A buyer orders the last piece in medium after it was sold in another chat.
  • No repeat buyer list. Past buyers are phone numbers spread across chats, not customers with an order history.

The WhatsApp order link generator helps at the start, because the buyer’s first message arrives with the product and details filled in. It does not give you an order list.

What a marketplace costs you

Daraz and Marketplace solve the “who will see my product” problem by putting it next to everyone else’s. The price of that:

  • Commission and fees. On Daraz, a share of every delivered order. Put your category’s rate into the Daraz profit calculator to see what a sale leaves you.
  • Their rules. The platform decides what can be listed, how returns work and when your account is limited.
  • Their buyer. The buyer comes back to the marketplace, not to you, and your listing sits beside cheaper copies of the same product.

That trade can be worth it for products people search for by name. It is a poor fit for a brand that sells on its own look.

Signs it is time for your own store

  • You scroll back through chats to work out who ordered what.
  • You answer the same price, size and delivery question all day.
  • Orders come from two or more apps, and you keep the list in a notebook.
  • A parcel went out with the wrong size because the order was typed by hand.
  • Commission is eating the margin on products buyers would order from you directly.
  • You want buyers to come back to your brand’s own address.

If none of these is true yet, keep selling from chats. Check the numbers first with the COD profit calculator, so you know what each order really leaves after courier charges and returns.

A store is not a website project

“Website” sounds like a developer, hosting, a designer and weeks of back and forth. An online store does not need any of that. A store builder gives you the shop ready to fill: add products with photos, sizes and prices, and buyers can order.

On Storelala, the Shopify alternative in Pakistan, that means:

  • Your own store at yourbrand.storelala.com, which can move to yourbrand.pk or yourbrand.com when you are ready.
  • Cash on delivery, JazzCash, Easypaisa or card at checkout, chosen by the buyer.
  • Every order in one list, with the name, phone and address the buyer entered.
  • PostEx, Leopards or TCS booked from the order screen, with the tracking number sent to the buyer on WhatsApp.
  • No marketplace commission on your orders.
  • Set up and run from your phone, free to start, no card needed.

One setup that keeps every channel

A store does not replace the apps. It gives each one a single job:

  • Instagram, Facebook and TikTok: show the product, with your store link in the bio.
  • WhatsApp: answer questions and confirm each cash on delivery order before you book the courier.
  • Daraz, if it suits your product: reach people searching for it by name.
  • Your store: where the order is placed and kept.

Questions sellers ask

Can I sell online without a website in Pakistan?

Yes. You can sell from a WhatsApp Business catalog, an Instagram or Facebook page, Facebook Marketplace, TikTok videos, or a marketplace like Daraz. None of them needs a website. What each lacks is a single list of your orders that you own, and on a marketplace you also pay commission.

How do I sell products online without a website?

Pick one place to be seen and one place to take orders. Post products on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, or list them on Daraz or Marketplace. Take orders in chat at first: confirm the name, phone, full address, size and colour, book the courier on cash on delivery and send the tracking number. When chats get hard to keep track of, move the ordering step to your own store.

Can buyers pay inside Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp in Pakistan?

No. As of October 2026, Pakistan is not on Meta’s list of countries for Shops on Facebook and Instagram, and TikTok Shop runs only in the markets TikTok lists, which do not include Pakistan. A WhatsApp catalog cart reaches you as a message. Payment is arranged outside the app, for example cash on delivery by courier.

Is it better to sell on Daraz or on Instagram?

They do different jobs. Daraz puts your product in front of people searching for it, and takes a commission that depends on your category. Instagram shows your brand to people who follow or find you, with no commission, but the order is taken in DMs or somewhere else.

Do I need a developer to make an online store?

No. A store builder gives you the store without any building. On Storelala you get a store at yourbrand.storelala.com with cash on delivery, JazzCash, Easypaisa or card at checkout, set it up from your phone, and it is free to start with no card needed.
