12 online business ideas in Pakistan you can run from home

Storelala Team

Twelve products you can sell online from home in Pakistan, from lawn suits to attars. For each one: who it suits, how to start with a few pieces, where the stock comes from, and the catch most lists leave out.

How to pick one

Most lists of online business ideas in Pakistan mix freelancing, YouTube, blogging and affiliate marketing. Those are jobs or media businesses. This list is only about selling products, because that is what an online store is for, and it is what most people mean when they want something to run from home. If you are a woman running it around family time, our guide to home based business ideas for women in Pakistan covers privacy, getting paid and loan schemes. If you are fitting it around classes, see our business ideas for students in Pakistan.

Before you choose, check four things:

  • You know it as a buyer. If you already buy lawn every summer, you can tell good print from bad and a fair price from a rip-off.
  • It survives a courier. Cash on delivery means your parcel travels, sometimes twice when a buyer refuses it. Glass, cakes and loose powders suffer.
  • You can start with a few pieces. A first batch you can afford to be wrong about.
  • There is a margin after courier and returns. Work it out before you buy, not after.

12 products you can sell online from home

Markets named below are the well-known wholesale markets. You do not have to go yourself: many wholesalers there take orders by phone or WhatsApp and send stock by courier. Ask for a few sample pieces before a full order. Our guide to wholesale suppliers in Pakistan covers how to check a supplier and pay safely before your first order.

1. Unstitched lawn and ready-to-wear

Good for: women at home, anyone with an eye for prints. Start with: a handful of suits in prints you think will sell, and good photos in daylight. Stock from: Lahore’s Azam Cloth Market, which the Walled City of Lahore Authority calls the largest wholesale cloth market in Asia, or Karachi’s Jama Cloth Market on M.A. Jinnah Road. The catch: unstitched is safer than ready-to-wear, because ready-to-wear comes back when it does not fit. If you stitch, put a size chart with real measurements on every product. Our Urdu guide to the online clothes business covers this in detail.

2. Artificial jewellery

Good for: women and students. Light, small and cheap to post. Start with: a few designs in small quantities, plus pouches or boxes. Stock from: Lahore’s Shah Alam Market (accessories and cosmetics) and the Bangle Market in the Walled City, or Karachi’s Boulton Market in Saddar. The catch: plating that tarnishes. Wear a piece for a week before you stock it. Our artificial jewellery business guide has prices, a starting budget and courier rules. See our Urdu guide to the online jewellery business.

3. Hijabs, abayas and scarves

Good for: women at home, students. Start with: a few colours in one fabric you trust. Stock from: cloth markets above for fabric, a local tailor for abayas. The catch: abaya length. Give lengths in inches, not just S, M, L. Hijabs rarely come back for size, which makes them a good first product.

4. Home-baked goods and dry snacks

Good for: anyone who already bakes for family. Start with: one or two items that keep for days, like biscuits, rusks, nimko or granola, not cream cakes. The catch: food rules and shelf life. Food businesses in Punjab are licensed by the Punjab Food Authority, which says a licence lasts a year and the fee depends on the size of the business. Other provinces have their own food authorities. Ask yours what a home kitchen needs before you sell. Label every pack with what is in it and a best-before date, and sell in your own city first so parcels arrive fresh. Our Urdu guide to a home bakery business covers pricing each piece, labels and taking an advance on custom cakes.

5. Skincare and cosmetics reselling

Good for: people who know skincare and get asked for advice. Start with: a few products from known brands with sealed packs. Stock from: Shah Alam in Lahore or an authorised distributor. The catch: fakes and unsafe creams. In 2019 the Ministry of Climate Change tested 59 fairness creams and found 56 with excessive mercury. The rules are being rewritten: a General Cosmetics Bill that involves DRAP was approved by a Senate committee in September 2026 and still has to pass parliament. Sell only sealed products with a clear maker or importer on the label, and never loose or unbranded whitening creams. To sell under your own name, see how to start a cosmetic brand in Pakistan. Our Urdu guide to the cosmetics business covers sourcing, spotting fakes and packing liquids.

6. Kids’ clothes

Good for: mothers, who already know what lasts. Start with: a few pieces in the most asked-for age range. Stock from: cloth markets above, or local stitching units. The catch: children grow and sizes vary by maker. List sizes by age and by chest and length in inches.

7. Handmade crafts and resin art

Good for: students and anyone who makes things already. Start with: materials for a few pieces and photos of what you have made. The catch: breakage and time. Wrap well, and price your hours in, because a handmade piece that sells well can take over your week.

8. Bedsheets and home textiles

Good for: women at home, families with a textile contact. Start with: a few sets in standard sizes. The catch: buyers want thread count and fabric spelled out, and a bed set is heavier, so courier charges are higher than for a scarf. Check the weight before you price.

9. Phone accessories

Good for: students. Start with: covers and cables for the most common phone models. Stock from: Hall Road in Lahore, a wholesale market for phones and accessories. The catch: many models, many copies. Say on the page exactly which phone a cover fits and whether a charger is original. Our mobile accessories business guide has what covers and chargers sell for and the COD maths on a small order.

10. Perfumes and attars

Good for: anyone with a nose for it. Start with: a few scents in small bottles, and testers. Stock from: Papper Mandi in the Walled City of Lahore, listed for herbs and perfumes. The catch: leaks and glass. Seal caps with tape and pack each bottle in bubble wrap. Ask your courier whether it carries liquids before you sell.

11. Printed tees

Good for: students and designers. Start with: a few designs printed on demand by a local print shop, so you do not hold stock. The catch: sizing returns and prints that crack after a wash. Wash a sample three times before you sell the design. Our guide to starting a t-shirt printing business in Pakistan compares the print methods and blank tees.

12. Plants

Good for: people with a roof or veranda and a local nursery nearby. Start with: a few small, hardy plants in pots. The catch: plants hate long courier trips. Sell in your own city first.

Online business without investment: the honest version

“Online business ideas in Pakistan without investment” mostly means one of two things. Dropshipping: a supplier holds the stock and ships to your buyer, and you set the price. Or reselling: you show a wholesaler’s products, take orders, and buy each piece only after a buyer orders it. Both need little money up front. Neither is free: you pay with your time, with thinner margins, and with less control over quality and delivery. Our guide to dropshipping in Pakistan covers how it works here.

With low investment, the safer start is a few pieces of your own stock. You see the quality, take your own photos, and pack each parcel the way you want buyers to remember.

Your first month

  • Price it properly. Put your cost, courier charge and a returns allowance into the profit margin calculator and see what you keep at each price.
  • Write the product page. Size, fabric, weight, what is in the box. The product description generator writes a first draft in English or Roman Urdu.
  • Pick a courier. For cash on delivery, payout speed and the cost of a returned parcel matter more than the forward rate. See our comparison of the best courier service in Pakistan.
  • Confirm every order by phone or WhatsApp before you ship. A quick call catches fake and impulse orders before they cost you a courier trip.

Where your store fits

Every idea here sells the same way: a buyer sees the product, orders, and pays the rider in cash. On Storelala, buyers choose cash on delivery, JazzCash, Easypaisa or card at checkout. You book PostEx, Leopards or TCS from the order screen, and the tracking number goes to the buyer on WhatsApp. You can run it all from your phone.

Questions people ask

Which online business is best in Pakistan for females from home?

One where you can buy a few pieces, photograph them at home and pack them at home. Unstitched lawn, artificial jewellery, hijabs and abayas, kids’ clothes and home-baked goods all fit. Pick the one you already know as a buyer, because you will judge quality and price better than a stranger would.

Can I start an online business in Pakistan without investment?

Not a product business, strictly speaking. Without your own stock it usually means dropshipping or reselling: you show a supplier’s product, take the order, and the supplier or you buy it only after a buyer has ordered. You still spend on your time, packaging if you pack it yourself, and returned parcels.

What online business can students start in Pakistan?

Something light, unbreakable and easy to post: phone accessories, printed tees, hijabs, or reselling a supplier’s stock. Avoid food and anything fragile until you can pack properly and be home to answer the phone when orders come in.

Which small online business is most profitable?

Nobody can give you an honest number for that. Your profit depends on what you pay for stock, your courier rate, ads and how many parcels come back. Put your own numbers into a profit margin calculator before you pick a product, and compare two or three ideas side by side.

Do I need a licence to sell home-made food online?

Food businesses in Punjab are licensed by the Punjab Food Authority, and other provinces have their own food authorities. Ask yours whether a home kitchen selling online needs a licence before you take your first order.
