Store policy generator
Answer a few questions about how your store works and get four policies in plain English, plus a short Roman Urdu or Urdu version for WhatsApp and Instagram. Copy them or download them as text or HTML.
This is a starting point, not legal advice. Read each policy, change anything that does not match how you work, and ask a lawyer to check it if your store is large.
Policies ready? Now put them on a store.
Storelala gives you a store with cash on delivery built in, at yourbrand.storelala.com. Free to start, no card needed.

What do big Pakistani brands put in their return policies?
We read what we could reach and wrote our own defaults, not their words. Sapphire’s page gives 30 days, says tags must be on and the item unwashed, excludes sale items and fragrances, and gives a credit voucher online rather than cash. Limelight’s exchange page asks for a request within 7 working days of receipt and the item in original condition. Khaadi’s policy is described by customers as about one week, and we could not load its official page. Policies change, so check each brand before you copy a number. Every default here can be changed.
Do I have to give refunds in Pakistan?
Not in every case. Many fashion brands give exchange or store credit for a change of mind, and pay money back when an item is wrong or damaged. Consumer protection law is a separate matter: the Punjab Consumer Protection Act 2005 covers defective products and lets a buyer bring a claim before a consumer court (claims are filed under section 25). Your policy should not take away rights the law gives your buyer.
Which consumer laws apply to an online store?
It depends on where you and the buyer are. Punjab has the Punjab Consumer Protection Act 2005 and rules from 2009. Islamabad has the Islamabad Consumers Protection Act 1995 and the Islamabad Capital Territory (Consumers Protection) Rules 2011. Other provinces have their own laws or are still catching up. The National E-Commerce Policy, approved by the federal cabinet in October 2019, names consumer protection as a core issue, but it is a policy, not a law that sets the wording of a return policy.
Does Pakistan have a data protection law?
Not a full one that we could verify as in force. The Personal Data Protection Bill was drafted by the IT ministry and consulted on, but we found no sign that it has been passed and notified as an Act. The Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, amended in 2025, is a criminal law that covers misuse of data and unauthorised access, not a privacy framework. Our privacy policy says plainly what you collect and who gets it, which any future law is likely to ask for as well.
Do SBP or PTA rules decide what my policy must say?
We did not find a State Bank or PTA rule that sets the wording of a store policy. SBP rules matter for payment providers and for how you receive money, not for your returns page. If you take card payments, your payment provider may ask to see your return and privacy policies.
Why do I need a privacy policy for a Facebook or Instagram page?
You collect names, phone numbers and addresses in messages even if you have no website. Meta also asks for a privacy policy link for some features such as ads and lead forms. Put the link in your page’s about section or in a pinned post.
Where do I put the policies?
On a website, add them as pages and link them from the footer. On Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, post the WhatsApp version, in English or Roman Urdu or Urdu, pin it, and keep the full text behind a link in your bio or catalog.
Is this legal advice?
No. These policies are a starting point built from your answers and public sources. Laws and rules change, and your business may have needs we do not know about. If you sell high-value goods, take payments online or collect a lot of customer data, have a lawyer read them before you publish.
Does this tool store what I type?
No. The policies are written in your browser and nothing is sent to us. Your answers are kept on this device so you do not retype them, and Start again clears them.
