How to add a highlight cover
- 1Download the covers to your phone. Use Download all and unzip the file, or download one at a time.
- 2Open your Instagram profile. Tap New under your bio to start a highlight, or press and hold an existing highlight and choose Edit highlight.
- 3Pick the stories it should hold and tap Next. Tap Edit cover, then the picture icon, and choose the cover you downloaded.
- 4Check that the art sits inside the circle, then tap Done. Instagram shows the highlight name under the circle and cuts long names, so keep it under 15 characters.

What is the Instagram highlight cover size?
Instagram asks for 1080 × 1920 pixels, a 9:16 picture like a story. It then shows only a circle from the middle, so the icon and text must sit in the centre. These covers are drawn that way. There is also a 1080 × 1080 square download if you prefer it.
How do I add a custom cover to an Instagram highlight?
Download the cover to your phone. On your profile tap New to start a highlight, or hold an existing one and choose Edit highlight. Pick your stories, tap Next, then Edit cover, tap the picture icon and choose the downloaded image. Check the circle and tap Done.
How do I make black highlight covers?
Black is the first colour set on this page. Tap it, or choose any background and icon colour you like. Outline ring draws a thin ring inside the circle, and Soft gradient gives a slightly lighter and darker shade of your colour.
Can I use Urdu names on the covers?
Yes. Switch Preset names in to Urdu, or type any Urdu word in a cover’s name box. The Nastaliq font is built into the page, so nothing else needs to load. Instagram also shows the highlight name under the circle, which you type in the app.
Which highlights should an online shop have?
Most shops start with Reviews, New, Prices, Delivery, COD and Sizes, so a first-time visitor can see proof and answers without sending a message. Add Order, Contact and Location if customers ask for them often, and Eid or Sale when the season comes.
