Pakistani size chart: ladies suit, shalwar, men’s, kids by age

There is no single Pakistani size chart: Khaadi, Sapphire, Gul Ahmed and Limelight each publish their own, and a medium kameez is 20 to 21.5 inches across the chest on a suit, or 26 on a Limelight kaftan. Copy the garment charts below for ladies suits, shalwar, men’s kurta, kids and abayas, then measure your own and publish those numbers.

Ladies suit and kameez size chart

Pakistan has no standard size chart. Khaadi, Gul Ahmed, Sapphire and Limelight each publish their own, and as of October 2026 a medium kameez on their suits is 20 to 21.5 inches across the chest. Every figure below is in inches and measures the finished garment, not the body, unless a heading says centimetres.

Ladies suit size chart to copy

This is the range across the four brands. Replace every number with a tape on your own finished kameez. If your cut is looser or tighter, keep your number and say so on the page.

Size Chest (flat) Shoulder Sleeve length
XS 18–19 13.5–14 21–22.5
S 19–20 14–14.5 22–23
M 20–21.5 14.5–15 22–23.5
L 22–23.5 15–16 22–24
XL 23.5–24 16–16.25 22–24.5

Shirt length is one number for every size on these suits: 48 inches at Khaadi, 44 at Gul Ahmed, and 50 at Sapphire and Limelight. List it as its own line, not a column. A Gul Ahmed co-ord set is the exception, with the shirt growing from 38 to 42 inches between XS and XL.

Chest by brand

The range comes from these four charts, in inches across the chest, laid flat. We found no separate size-chart page at any of these brands. Each prints its chart on a product page, so each name below links to the page we read. They do not all say “garment”, but rows such as shoulder and armhole only describe clothing, and a chest of 18 to 24 inches is far too small to be a body measured around.

Size Khaadi Gul Ahmed Sapphire Limelight suit
XS 18 18 19 18
S 19 19 20 19.5
M 20 20.5 21 21.5
L 22 22 22.5 23.5
XL 24 23.5 24 Not offered

Limelight’s kaftan is left out of the range because it is cut far wider. It is in the section on why brands differ.

Shalwar and trouser size chart

A trouser chart needs more rows than a kameez. List the waist twice if the trouser has an elastic or a drawstring, relaxed and extended, and mark every row “across” or “around”. This is Sapphire’s trouser chart from the same product page, garment measurements in inches. Length is 37 at every size and the thigh runs 12.5 to 15.

Size Waist, relaxed Waist, extended Hip Bottom opening
XS 13.5 19 19.5 13.25
S 14.5 20 21 14
M 15.5 21 22.5 14.75
L 16.5 22 24 15.5
XL 17.5 23 25.5 16.25

Sapphire does not say so, but a relaxed waist of 15.5 can only be a width across. Gul Ahmed’s trouser chart is the opposite: it lists “Waist Relax (Circum)”, the distance around. The two cannot be set side by side until one is doubled or halved, and the section on why brands differ does it. Men’s shalwar lengths are in the men’s chart.

Men’s kurta and shalwar kameez chart

Men’s charts agree far better than women’s. As of October 2026, Gul Ahmed’s regular-fit suit and Zellbury’s Express shalwar kameez sit within half an inch of each other on chest, length and shoulder at every size. This is the range across both, in inches, with the kameez laid flat. Neither page says “garment”, but both list shoulder and sleeve length.

Size Chest (flat) Kameez length Shoulder Sleeve length
S 21–21.5 41–41.5 17–17.5 24–24.5
M 22–22.5 42.5 18–18.5 24.5–25
L 23–23.5 43.5–44 19–19.5 25–26
XL 24–24.5 44.5–45 20–20.5 25.5–26.5

Add shalwar rows: length (Gul Ahmed lists 40 to 44 inches, Zellbury 41 to 44), plus the bottom opening and width if your shalwar is cut full. For a band-collar kurta, add the collar, which Zellbury lists at 15.5 to 18.5 inches from S to XL.

Kids size chart by age

Brands size kids by age band, and the garment behind each band is the brand’s own. First, Zellbury’s girls’ kurta, garment measurements in inches.

Age Chest Length Shoulder Sleeve
7 Y 14.5 24 11 16
8 Y 15 26 11.5 16.5
9 Y 15.5 28 12 17
10 Y 16 30 12.5 17.5
11 Y 16.5 32 13 18
12 Y 17 34 13.5 18.5

From 7 to 12 years the length goes from 24 to 34 inches, a gain of 10, while the chest goes from 14.5 to 17, a gain of 2.5. Length does the work in a child’s kurta, so lead with it. Age and size often do not match, so ask the parent for the child’s height as well.

Next, a Gul Ahmed toddler girls’ dress in centimetres, as its page lists them. The rows are named “Chest Width (Under Armhole-relax)” and “Waist width Relax”, so they are garment widths.

Age Total length Chest width Waist width
1–2 Y 63 25.5 18.5
3–4 Y 66 27.5 20
5–6 Y 69 29.5 21.5

When the sizes are numbers: one wholesale listing

If you resell from a wholesale marketplace you inherit its sizes. Markaz’s girls’ 3 piece suit, titled “1–12 Years”, names its sizes 30, 32 and 34. Its “Size Measurements” are garment figures with the age bands beside them. The block prints no unit, though the details above it say inches. Inner length and trouser length equal the size number in every row.

Size Age as listed Inner chest Gown chest Gown length
30 6–8 Years 15 16 32
32 8–10 Years 16 17 34
34 10–12 Years 17 18 37

The size selector on the same page offers 5–6, 7–8, 8–10 and 11–12 Years, so only 8–10 appears in both lists. The details give one chest (17) and shirt length (34) for the whole set, which match only size 34. A buyer who picks 7–8 Years cannot tell which row is hers. This is one listing, not every wholesaler, but if a supplier’s age bands overlap, measure the garment and rewrite the sizes yourself, with chest and length for each.

Abaya size chart by length

An abaya is bought by length first. As of October 2026, Sapphire’s abaya chart is in centimetres:

Size Length, cm Bottom opening, cm Sleeves, cm
S 132 146 79
M 137 146 79
L 142 149 82
XL 147 149 82

Lengths step by 5 centimetres, about 2 inches: roughly 52, 54, 56 and 58 inches. The page lists no height and does not say whether the bottom opening is across or around, so do not copy S, M, L as if they meant her height. Ask each buyer to measure from the top of her shoulder straight down to where she wants the hem, in the shoes she will wear, and match that to the length row.

Why one brand’s medium is not another’s

The brand charts list the garment, not the body, and they do not say how the garment lies. A chest of 20 inches is the width across, so the distance around is double. Say a buyer’s bust is 38 inches, our assumption for this example:

  • Khaadi M: 20 × 2 = 40 inches around, so 2 inches of room (40 − 38).
  • Sapphire M: 21 × 2 = 42 inches around, so 4 inches of room.
  • Limelight suit M: 21.5 × 2 = 43 inches around, so 5 inches of room.
  • Limelight kaftan M: 26 × 2 = 52 inches around, so 14 inches of room.

Limelight’s two mediums carry one brand label and differ by 4.5 inches across the chest, because one is a suit and the other a kaftan, which is cut wide. On the kaftan page the chest reads 24, 25, 26 and 27 from XS to L. The size letter does not tell her the cut. The numbers do.

The waist trap

The same gap shows up in trousers. Converted to the distance around, Sapphire’s relaxed waist sits 4 inches above Gul Ahmed’s at every size:

Size Gul Ahmed, around Sapphire, across Sapphire × 2
XS 23 13.5 27
S 25 14.5 29
M 27 15.5 31
L 29 16.5 33
XL 31 17.5 35

Copy a competitor’s waist without checking which one it is and you will be out by a factor of two. Write “across” or “around” on every row of your own chart.

From her bust to the chest you list

When a buyer sends her bust, turn it into a flat chest: (bust + room) ÷ 2, where room is how loose she wants the kameez. The table uses 2 inches of room for a close fit like the Khaadi medium on a 38 bust, and 4 for the Sapphire medium. For a kaftan with 14, a 38 bust needs 26. Replace these with the room in your own garments. All figures are inches across, laid flat.

Her bust Close fit, +2 Regular, +4
32 17 18
34 18 19
36 19 20
38 20 21
40 21 22
42 22 23
44 23 24

Pick the size whose flat chest is that number or the next one up. A 38 bust in a regular fit needs 21 across, the top of the medium on the chart to copy. A size named by a number, such as 38 or 40, can mean her bust or the garment’s chest, so say which in the chart heading. Better still, stop converting: publish your own flat garment numbers, say “measured flat”, and tell the buyer to compare them with a kameez she already likes.

How to measure a garment

Measure a finished piece from your tailor, not the pattern, because stitching changes the size. Lay it flat on a table, smooth it out without stretching, and use a soft tape.

  1. Chest. Straight across, just under the armholes, from side seam to side seam.
  2. Shoulder. From one shoulder seam to the other, across the back.
  3. Sleeve length. From the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.
  4. Shirt length. From the highest point of the shoulder, next to the neck, straight down to the hem.
  5. Hip or bottom. Straight across the hem, side seam to side seam.
  6. Trouser waist. Across the top, once relaxed and once with the elastic pulled out. Write “across” on the row, or double it and write “around”.
  7. Trouser length and opening. Waist to hem along the outer seam, then across the hem.

Measure two pieces of each size. If they differ by more than an inch, fix the cutting before you publish a chart, or the chart will be wrong for half your buyers.

Putting the chart on the product page

  • Put it on every product page, next to the size buttons. A buyer on a phone will not go looking for a separate page.
  • Write the unit and the method in the heading: “Garment measurements, in inches, laid flat.”
  • Say which size the model wears, and her height, in the product text.
  • Name the cut. “Fitted” or “loose” tells her whether to size up. Limelight’s suit and kaftan, both in medium, show why.
  • Show one tape-measure photo of the garment laid flat. It proves the numbers are real.

The free size chart maker builds the chart for you. Choose kameez, trousers, men’s kurta or kids, switch the basis to “Finished garment”, set inches or centimetres, then type your own numbers. It downloads a square or portrait PNG for Instagram, copies the chart as plain text for WhatsApp, or copies an HTML table for a product page.

For buyers who hesitate, send this message and wait for the two numbers:

Salam! Please lay your best-fitting kameez flat and measure straight across the chest, just under the armholes, and from the shoulder down to the hem. Send me the two numbers and I will tell you which size matches.

What a clear chart saves you

A chart cannot stop every exchange, but it stops the preventable ones: the buyer who orders a medium because medium is what she wears at another brand. Here is what one costs, with assumptions to replace with your own:

  • You sell 100 kameez a month and say 12 come back for a size exchange.
  • Say your courier charges Rs 250 each way, so one exchange costs Rs 250 + Rs 250 = Rs 500.
  • 12 exchanges × Rs 500 = Rs 6,000 a month.
  • Say a clear chart prevents 4 of them: 4 × Rs 500 = Rs 2,000 a month back in your pocket.

Find your own number by logging every size exchange: the product, the size ordered, the size sent, and what the buyer said. If three exchanges on one product all go the same way, add “runs small, order one size up” to that product and correct its chart. Questions sellers ask

What is the size chart for ladies suits in Pakistan?

There is no single one. Khaadi, Sapphire, Gul Ahmed and Limelight each publish their own, usually XS to XL, with the chest, shoulder, sleeve and length of the finished kameez in inches. On the four suits we checked, a medium is 20 to 21.5 inches across the chest, laid flat. Copy the first table on this page, then replace it with your own measurements.

What size is medium in Pakistani clothing brands?

It depends on the brand and the cut. As of October 2026, the medium kameez on the pages we checked measures 20 inches across the chest at Khaadi, 20.5 at Gul Ahmed, 21 at Sapphire and 21.5 at Limelight, and a Limelight kaftan lists 26. Always show your own numbers next to the size letter.

How do I turn a buyer’s bust into a kameez size?

Add the room she wants to her bust, then divide by 2 to get the flat chest. A 38 inch bust needs about 20 inches across for a close fit and 21 for a regular one, which is where the Khaadi and Sapphire mediums sit. Pick the size on your chart with that chest or the next one up.

What should a shalwar or trouser size chart list?

Length, waist relaxed (and extended, if there is an elastic), hip and bottom opening, each marked across or around. The two brands we compared differ: Gul Ahmed lists a medium relaxed waist as 27 inches around, while Sapphire lists 15.5 across, which is 31 around. Measure yours the way a buyer can check with a tape, and say which.

What are kids’ clothing sizes in Pakistan?

Brands size kids by age band, such as 1–2 Y, 3–4 Y and 7 Y to 12 Y, but the numbers behind each band are the brand’s own. Zellbury’s girls’ kurta gains 10 inches of length between 7 and 12 years and only 2.5 inches of chest, and one Markaz wholesale listing names its sizes 30, 32 and 34 with age bands that overlap its own size selector. List chest and length for every size, and ask for the child’s height if the parent is unsure.

Should I list body or garment measurements, in inches or centimetres?

List the finished garment, laid flat, because that is what the brands above publish and it is the only number you can check with a tape. If you also list body measurements, label them as body. Use inches for adult kameez, kurtas and trousers, as these brands do, and centimetres only where your supplier works in them, as Sapphire does for abayas. Pick one unit per chart and say which in the heading.
