How to show your online store on Google in Pakistan
The setup that helps Google find and read your store, straight from Google’s own help pages: Search Console, your sitemap, and product pages written the way buyers search. Then who qualifies for a Business Profile, where Merchant Center stands for Pakistan, and how long any of it takes.
Getting a store onto Google is mostly free work you do once, then a little on every product you add. Nobody can promise you a ranking. Google says plainly that it does not accept payment to rank a site higher and does not guarantee it will index any page. What you can do is make your store easy to find, easy to read, and worth showing. Every step below comes from Google’s own help pages, linked where they apply.
Check if Google already has you
Before anything else, open Google and search site: followed by your store address, for example site:yourbrand.storelala.com. Google’s SEO starter guide suggests this exact check: if results show, you are in the index. If nothing shows, the store is new or nothing links to it yet.
Google says it finds most sites on its own and that you usually do not need to do anything except publish. It discovers new pages by following links from pages it already knows, so put your store address on the pages you already have, like your Facebook page and Instagram bio.
Add your store to Google Search Console
Search Console is Google’s free dashboard for site owners. You do not need it to appear in Google, but it is the only place Google tells you which of your pages are indexed, which searches you showed up for, and what went wrong.
- Go to search.google.com/search-console and sign in with the Google account you will keep.
- Choose Add property. Google offers two types: a Domain property (Google’s name for it), which covers every version of an address but can only be verified through a DNS record, and a URL-prefix property, which covers one exact address such as https://amnalawn.pk/ and has several ways to verify.
- Prove you own it. Google’s verification page lists an HTML file, an HTML tag, a Google Analytics or Tag Manager code, or a DNS record at whoever sold you the address.
One catch Google states itself: if your store runs on a hosted platform, the file and tag methods might not be possible, and the platform may have its own setting for Search Console instead. Look in your platform’s settings or help pages first. If your store is on your own address, the DNS method at the company you bought it from is the one that covers everything.
Submit your sitemap
A sitemap is a file listing every page you want Google to know about. In Search Console, open Sitemaps, enter the sitemap address and press Submit. The report then shows when Google last read it and whether it found errors.
Keep expectations right. Google’s sitemap page calls a submitted sitemap “merely a hint” that does not guarantee Google will use it. It also says Google picks up a sitemap listed in the site’s robots.txt file the next time it crawls that file, so a store that does this is already pointing Google at its products.
On Storelala, every store has a sitemap at yourbrand.storelala.com/sitemap.xml listing its home page, shop page and each product, and its robots.txt points to it. When you add a product, it goes into the sitemap with nothing for you to do.
For one new or changed page, Search Console’s URL Inspection tool has a Request indexing button. Google notes there is a quota, and asking again for the same page does not make it faster.
Product pages people can find
This is where the ongoing work is, and it is the same work that makes a buyer order.
Titles the way buyers type
Google’s starter guide says to think about the words a person might search, and that people new to a topic use different words from experts. A buyer types “black chiffon abaya”, not “Noor Collection 04”. Put the product type and the detail that separates it near the start, and keep your collection name at the end if you want it at all.
- Weak: “Zara 12”
- Better: “Zara 12, embroidered khaddar 3 piece, maroon”
On Storelala, the product title you type is the page title Google reads, followed by your store name, so this one field does double duty.
A description of its own on every product
Google says a good page summary is short and unique to that page. Twenty products with the same pasted paragraph look identical to Google and to a buyer. Write fabric, size, colour, what is in the parcel and how it is delivered, in your own words. Our guide to writing product descriptions that sell has a structure that works for any product, and the free product description generator gives you a first draft to edit. On a Storelala store, the opening of your description becomes the summary shown under your title, so put the most useful line first.
Photos Google can read
Google’s image guidelines ask for descriptive alt text and short, descriptive file names: maroon-khaddar-3-piece.jpg tells Google something, IMG_4412.jpg tells it nothing. Rename photos before you upload them. For taking the photos themselves on a phone, see our guide to product photography with a mobile.
Fast pages
Google recommends good Core Web Vitals, its measures of how fast and stable a page is, and says this aligns with what its ranking systems reward. The part you control is photo size. A full-size phone photo slows every product page on mobile data. Shrink photos before upload with the free image compressor.
Google Business Profile, only if buyers meet you
A Business Profile is what shows on Google Maps and in the box beside local results. It is not for every store. Google’s policy says a business must make in-person contact with customers during its stated hours, and lists online-only businesses as not eligible.
You may qualify if one of these is true:
- Buyers collect from you. Google says a place without permanent signage is not a storefront and should be listed as a service-area business.
- You or your rider deliver within your city. Google defines a service-area business as one that visits or delivers to customers directly and does not serve them at its address.
Working from home is allowed. Google’s guidelines say a service-area business should hide its address, and give the example of someone running a business from a residential address clearing it from the profile. Your service area should stay within about two hours’ drive of where you are based, by the same guidelines. Use your real trading name, exactly as it appears on your packaging and Instagram, with no “best price” or city added to it.
If every order leaves by courier to other cities and nobody ever meets you, skip the profile. Its rules do not cover you, and a profile that breaks them can be removed.
Google Merchant Center and Pakistan
Merchant Center is how stores get products into Google Shopping, including free product listings. As of October 2026, Pakistan is not on Google’s list of countries where Shopping ads and free listings are available, and Urdu is not on its list of supported languages. That means you cannot show your products to shoppers in Pakistan through Merchant Center today.
Check that page before you spend an afternoon building a product feed. If Pakistan is added later, a store with clear titles, its own descriptions and good photos will be ready for it.
How long it takes
Google does not give a date, and neither should anyone else. In its own words:
- Crawling “can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks”, and requesting a crawl does not guarantee inclusion “instantly or even at all”.
- After a change, “some changes might take effect in a few hours, others could take several months”, and Google suggests waiting a few weeks before judging whether something worked, in the starter guide.
So do the setup once, then put your effort into products and the places your buyers already are. Search traffic builds slowly behind that. Our guide to getting your first customers online covers the orders you can get this week, and starting an online store in Pakistan covers the setup from the beginning.
Questions sellers ask
How do I show my website on Google search?
Google finds most sites on its own once they are live and linked from somewhere. Search site: followed by your store address to see whether it is indexed. To help it along, add the store to Google Search Console, submit your sitemap, and give every product a clear title and its own description.
Is Google Search Console free?
Yes. Google describes Search Console as a free service. You do not have to sign up for it to appear in Google, but it shows which pages are indexed, which searches you appear for, and any problems Google hit while crawling.
Is Google Merchant Center available in Pakistan?
As of October 2026, Pakistan is not on Google’s list of countries where Shopping ads and free listings are available, so you cannot show products to shoppers in Pakistan through Merchant Center. Check Google’s supported countries page before you spend time on a product feed.
Can I make a Google Business Profile for an online store?
Not for an online-only store. Google’s policy says a business must make in-person contact with customers during its stated hours, and lists online-only businesses as ineligible. If buyers collect from you, or you deliver yourself within your city, you may qualify as a service-area business with your home address hidden.
How long does it take for a new website to show on Google?
Google gives no fixed time. Its own pages say crawling can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, that some changes show in a few hours and others take several months, and that requesting a crawl does not guarantee your page will be included.
Can I pay Google to rank my store higher?
No. Google says it does not accept payment to crawl a site more often or rank it higher. Ads are a separate, labelled product. Anyone selling a guaranteed first-page ranking is selling something Google says it does not offer.
