Online store name ideas in Pakistan: how to pick one

Storelala Team

How to pick a store name that buyers can say in a voice note, spell from memory and find on Instagram, with name patterns for clothes, cosmetics, kids and home. Then the checks to run before you print a single label.

A store name in Pakistan gets said out loud more than it gets read. A buyer tells her sister about it in a voice note, a rider reads it off a parcel, a customer types it into Instagram search from memory. Choose for that, and the rest gets easier. Still deciding what to sell? Start with what to sell online, then come back for the name.

Say it, spell it, type it

Run every name on your list through three tests before you fall for one.

  • The voice note test. Record the name in a WhatsApp voice note and send it to two friends. Ask them to type it back. If either spells it wrong, buyers will too, and they will land on someone else’s page.
  • The phone call test. Say it the way you would on a confirmation call: “Assalam o alaikum, I’m calling from ___.” If you have to spell it out, it is too hard.
  • The thumb test. Type it on your phone with one thumb. Double letters, silent letters and numbers in place of words (4 for “for”, u for “you”) all slow people down.

Short helps every test. One or two words is a good target. Keep symbols out of the name itself: nobody says “noor underscore threads” twice in a voice note.

Urdu, English or both

An Urdu word, an English word or a mix like “Chaand Studio” can all work. The catch is spelling. Addresses, handles and search are all typed in English letters, and Roman Urdu has no fixed spelling: Libaas or Libas, Noor or Nur, Zevar or Zewar.

  • Pick one spelling and use it on the store, the handle, the label and the box.
  • Prefer the spelling a buyer would type without thinking. Ask five people, go with the majority.
  • If a word has three common spellings, consider a different word.
  • Put the Urdu script version on your logo and packaging if you like. The typed name stays in English letters.

One name everywhere

Your store address, Instagram handle, Facebook page and the name on the parcel should all match. A buyer who sees “noorthreads” on Instagram and “Noor Fashion Hub” on the parcel wonders if she ordered from the right place.

On Storelala your name becomes your store address: “Noor Threads” becomes noor-threads.storelala.com. Check the Instagram handle at the same time. If the exact handle is taken, adding “pk”, “store” or your city to the end is cleaner than a row of underscores, and it still passes the voice note test. For the bio that sits under that handle, the free Instagram bio generator writes one in English or Roman Urdu.

Leave room to grow

“Lahore Lawn Corner” sounds clear on day one. Six months later you want to sell abayas, or ship to Karachi, and the name argues with you. A name that only describes the product also has a second problem: under section 14 of the Trade Marks Ordinance 2001, marks made only of words that describe the kind, quality or geographical origin of the goods, or that have no distinctive character, cannot be registered. So “Pure Cotton” or “Best Kurti” is hard to protect even if you want to.

The fix is a name that is about you or a feeling, with the product in your bio, not in the name. “Noor Threads” can sell lawn, then shawls, then bedsheets. “Noor Lawn” cannot.

Name ideas by niche

The names below are made up for this post to show the patterns. Some may already be in use, so run any of them through the checks in the next section before you use it. Swap in your own word, name or city.

Clothes and boutiques

  • Your name plus a word: Hira Studio, Mehr House, Areeba Label.
  • A cloth or craft word: Dhaaga Co, Gota Lane, Resham Room.
  • A short Urdu word: Pehnava, Kinaari, Odhni Lane.

Starting a clothing label? Our guide to starting a clothing brand in Pakistan covers the label, size chart and trademark class that go with the name.

Cosmetics and skincare

  • A soft, short word: Glow Jar, Saaf Skin, Ubtan Room.
  • An ingredient you want to be known for: Multani Mitti Co, Rose and Reetha.
  • Your name: Amna’s Shelf, Sana Beauty Room.

An ingredient name works if you will keep that ingredient at the centre. If you might move into perfume or makeup, pick the softer word.

Kids

  • A playful sound: Chhota Closet, Nanha Box, Tota Toys.
  • A family word: Ammi’s Little Ones, Nani’s Box.

“Toys” in a name blocks you from baby clothes later. “Closet” blocks you from toys. If you want both, choose something like “Nanha Box” that holds anything.

Home and decor

  • A room or a feeling: Aangan, Ghar Goods, Sukoon Home.
  • A material: Khaddar and Clay, Jute Lane.

Want more to choose from? The free shop name generator gives name ideas in English or Roman Urdu for what you sell and checks at once which ones are free as yourbrand.storelala.com. Once you have the name, the free logo maker turns it into a logo.

Check it is free before you print anything

Do this before you order labels, boxes or a sign. Changing a name after 500 printed boxes costs real money.

  • Store address: the shop name generator above shows whether yourbrand.storelala.com is free.
  • Instagram and Facebook: search the name and the handle. Look for close spellings too, not only the exact one.
  • Google and Daraz: search the name in quotes with the word Pakistan, and on Daraz. A seller already using it means confused buyers.
  • Trademarks: IPO Pakistan’s trademark FAQs advise searching the Trademarks Register for similar or identical marks before you apply. An official search on Form TM-55 costs Rs 1,000 for one mark in one class, as of October 2026, per IPO’s fees and forms page. The trademark e-journal lists marks accepted for publication, and you can look through it for free.

Trademarks are filed by class. In IPO’s classification summary, class 25 is clothing, footwear and headwear, class 3 is cosmetics, toiletries and perfumery, class 28 is games and toys, class 24 is textiles and household linen, and class 21 is household and kitchen utensils. A name taken in another class may still be open in yours, but stay away from any name a well-known brand already uses.

You do not need a trademark to start selling. When the name starts earning, protect it. Our Urdu guide on how to register a brand name covers the online filing, the fees and how long it takes.

Your name, your store

A good name deserves its own store, not just a page on someone else’s platform. On Storelala the name you pick becomes your store at yourbrand.storelala.com, with your products, your photos and cash on delivery, JazzCash, Easypaisa or card at checkout, and no marketplace commission on each sale. You book PostEx, Leopards or TCS from the order screen, and the tracking number goes to your buyer on WhatsApp. When you are ready, the store can move to yourbrand.pk or yourbrand.com with your orders unchanged. Questions people ask

How do I choose a name for my online store in Pakistan?

Pick one or two words that are easy to say and easy to spell. Read the name out in a WhatsApp voice note and ask a friend to type it back. If they spell it right the first time, it passes. Then check that the same name is free as a store address, on Instagram and on Facebook, and that nobody has filed it as a trademark in your class with IPO Pakistan.

Should my store name be in Urdu or English?

Either works, or a mix of both, as long as you settle on one spelling in English letters. Store addresses and Instagram handles are typed in English letters, so a Roman Urdu word like Libaas needs one fixed spelling that you use on the store, the handle, the label and the box.

What are good online shop name ideas for clothes?

Three patterns leave room to grow: your own name or a family name with a word like Studio or House, a cloth or craft word such as Dhaaga or Gota, or a short word that means something to you. Avoid putting one product in the name, such as Kurti, if you might add shoes or bags later.

How do I check if a business name is already taken in Pakistan?

Search the name on Instagram, Facebook, Google and Daraz. Then check the trademark side: IPO Pakistan advises searching its Trademarks Register before applying, and an official search on Form TM-55 costs Rs 1,000 for one mark in one class, as of October 2026.

Do I need to register my store name before I start selling?

No. You can open a store and sell under a name without a trademark. Registering protects the name later. IPO Pakistan charges Rs 3,000 to file one mark in one class on Form TM-1, as of October 2026, and our Urdu guide to registering a brand name walks through the rest.

Storelala is the Shopify alternative in Pakistan: your own store at yourbrand.storelala.com, cash on delivery, JazzCash, Easypaisa and cards at checkout, and no marketplace commission.
