How do I compress a photo to 200KB?
Choose 200 KB, drop your photo in and download the result. The tool finds the highest quality that stays under 200 KB. If the photo is too detailed for that, it makes the picture a little smaller in pixels until it fits. It never goes over.
Will the photo look worse?
A smaller file always loses some detail. At 200 KB and above, a normal phone photo still looks fine on screen. At 20 KB or 50 KB the picture is made smaller in pixels too, so it suits forms and small thumbnails, not printing.
Which size should I pick for a form or portal?
Use the number written on the form. Many Pakistani online forms ask for a photo under a set size in KB, and the limit differs between portals, so check yours. If you are unsure, pick the smaller of the sizes it mentions.
What does Daraz or Instagram need?
For Daraz, sellers are generally asked for a white, square main image of about 1000 pixels or more, so use Daraz 1000 square. Instagram feed photos are shown up to 1080 pixels wide, so Instagram 1080 is enough. Rules change, so check your Seller Center.
What is the difference between KB and MB?
1 MB is 1,000 KB here, so the 1 MB option is the same as 1,000 KB. This tool counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, which is a little stricter than Windows (1,024 bytes). A file made for 200 KB will show under 200 KB in both.
Are my photos saved? Is there a limit?
No. Each photo is sent to our server, compressed in memory and sent back. Nothing is kept. Each photo can be up to 12 MB, and each connection can compress 60 photos every 10 minutes. The zip is made in your browser.
Does it remove location and camera details?
Yes. The file you download has no EXIF data, so no GPS location or camera name. Photos taken sideways are turned the right way up first.
